Describe the Area

Although La Basse Rouerie is in a quiet location it is only a few minutes from Mellé which has a bar-tabac-restaurant and only 5 mins to Louvigne du Desert with its shops and restaurants.

Mellé, which is situated on the Brittany/ Normandy borders. Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside, something for everyone.

We are about an hours drive from the port of St Malo; this is also an excellent place to visit, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches.

Also within an hours drive you have Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower. The large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront are also worth a visit.

Half an hour’s drive will take you to the walled town of Fougeres with its chateau, and sandy beach in the forest. St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls.

Mellé is also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St. James, the water park at St Martin de Landelles and trout fishing in St Georges du Rentembault.

So whatever the family want to do on holiday you will find it here, energetic or relaxing you choose it’s your holiday.

Property Description

Cherry Tree is a bright and spacious cottage in an idyllic location, rural but near to the local village. It is also near to towns, Mont Saint Michel, water & floral parks, infact

something for all the family. It is comfortably furnished and has the added advantage of a heated pool a 14ft trampoline with safety nets and over 2 acres of secure gardens.

The cottage has views over undulating farmland, and has granite walls and exposed oak beams. It is heated for the cooler months, so is ideal for that well earned holiday at any time of the year.

The ground floor is open plan for easy entertaining and on the 1st floor there are 3 bedrooms and a shower room.

La Basse Rouerie is a traditional Breton farmhouse and Longere that dates back 600 years in parts. It has two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.

It is situated on the Brittany, Normandy border in France so you can explore both areas.

A perfect place for all the family to unwind, either by the pool or under a tree with a good book and a glass of wine.

The English owners Sandy & Barrie have converted the Longere into 4 cottages leaving in lots of the original features, like granite walls and exposed oak beams.

The cottages have been restored to provide modern conveniences whilst retaining all the charm of a typical French farmhouse.

All the cottages are named after the fruit trees in the gardens, Cherry Tree is one of these.
